Admissions
Admissions
Everything you need to apply to Yeshivat Lev Aharon, from the first application through tuition, registration and preparing for your year in Yerushalayim.
Follow the four steps below for a clear overview of the admissions process, including each required action and the appropriate contact for assistance.
Step 1
Apply
Our online form is the complete application for the 2026–2027 year. It takes only a few minutes and can be completed by the student together with his parents. A member of our admissions staff personally reviews every application and then arranges a conversation with the yeshiva.
You will need an image of your passport and birth certificate (or Israeli ID / Teudat Zehut), and a recent headshot of yourself alone in order to complete the application.

Step 2
Tuition
Once a student has been accepted, the family should contact the tuition office to make the necessary financial arrangements. Registration must be completed, including all tuition arrangements, before the student arrives at the yeshiva.
- Tuition Contract — request, sign and return it before arrival. It must be honored even if the student leaves mid-year.
- Payment — tuition and the separate, non-refundable registration fee are submitted to the NY office. If paying by check, a credit card number is provided as reserve.
- Financial aid — offered to families unable to cover the full expense. The family remains responsible for the balance above any aid.
- Families not paying full tuition may be requested to submit parents’ tax returns (1040, first two pages). A W2 is not accepted.

Registration, the signed tuition contract and payment must all be completed before arrival. Please confirm the current 2026–2027 dates with the tuition office.
Step 3
Complete Registration
Once tuition is arranged, registration is a short checklist. Everything required is listed here with the action it needs — you do not have to hunt through other pages.
- Required
Parental Agreement 2026–2027
Parents review and sign the agreement between the parent/guardian and the yeshiva for the 2026–2027 year. It covers the full-year commitment, responsibility for damages, and authorization for emergency medical treatment.

Israeli medical coverage (AIM)
Israeli medical coverage through the provider selected by the yeshiva is mandatory — including for students who already hold international coverage. Registration is not complete until proof of coverage for the year is provided, and processing can take up to 7 days, so register early. For 2026–2027 the yeshiva has arranged the AIM Platinum and AIM Diamond plans, which also cover league sports.
- Recommended
Phone & SIM — TalknSave
Every student should have a cellphone in Israel; the yeshiva phone is not available for student use. TalknSave is our recommended provider for 2026–2027 and ships the SIM free when ordered at least 10 days before departure. Students may use any provider they wish.
- Recommended
Linens & dorm supplies
To avoid packing heavy bedding we recommend Blanket Express, which delivers directly to the yeshiva.
An Admission Ticket is issued once registration is complete — including the signed tuition contract, tuition payment and the registration fee. No student may arrive at yeshiva before registration is complete.
Step 4
Prepare for the Year
What to arrange before you fly, what to bring, your phone, arrival in Israel, the year’s calendar and special cases.

Passport
Your passport must be valid for at least six months after the end of the program. Passports can take several weeks to arrive, so please apply early. Although it may be possible to obtain a passport in Israel, doing so can be a lengthy and stressful process for both the student and his family; please arrange it before departure.
ETA-IL entry authorization
Travellers from visa-exempt countries must hold a valid visa or an approved ETA-IL before beginning their journey; without one you cannot board. A student who does not yet hold a student visa must select “Short Term Study” — selecting “Long Term Study” will be denied. Israeli citizens do not need an ETA-IL.
Apply for ETA-ILVaccinations
Consult your local physician about vaccinations recommended for a year’s stay in Israel (hepatitis, etc.).
What to bring
Dress code
Class dress is a collared shirt, long pants (no jeans or sweatpants) and shoes with socks.
Clothing & trips
Weekday and Shabbat clothing, a winter coat and a light coat, shoes and boots; plus hiking clothes, sneakers, water shoes, bathing suit, canteen, sleeping bag, hat, sunblock and insect repellent for trips.
Bedding & dorm supplies
Towels, two sets of linen, a warm winter blanket, a light summer cover, pillow and laundry bag. To avoid packing heavy bedding we recommend Blanket Express, which delivers directly to the yeshiva. Bring a year’s contact lens solution — it is expensive in Israel.

Special cases
Israeli parents — Bnei Mehagrim
Children of Israelis living abroad may study in yeshiva as “Children of Immigrants” when their parents do not reside in Israel (or they are in the non-resident parent’s custody), they begin yeshiva studies at 17 or later, they emigrated with their parents before the age of 10, they have not spent a “Year of Residence” in Israel outside a recognized program, their primary residence is not in Israel, and they have been accepted into a recognized institution. A student who meets these conditions submits a yeshiva document stating the start and end dates of his program before studies begin, and provides updated confirmation for each additional year. Yeshiva studies are permitted for up to four years.
